Best Beaches in North Goa

Our favourite activity to do in Goa? Well… it’s nothing! Lying down on the beach, a book in one hand, and a coconut in the other, soaking in the sun, and splashing in the waves, in our opinion, is a day very well spent!

Depending on what you want from your beach experience, we’ve got you covered!

Mandrem Beach In Goa

Just 2km down the road from Wigwam, without being bias, lies our favourite beach. This is the beach you come to when you’re looking for a nice relaxing day. You can bring a mat, and park up on the sand, or pick a bed from the sleepy beach shacks, and lie down with your book, paddle through the river, lightly stretch into a downward dog, all while listening to nothing but the sound of the waves. We highly recommend coming here for sunset, the best time for people watching, when the beach comes alive with yogis, dancers, sunset chasers and friends. It’s a great spot to start a beach walk, either down to bustling Arambol, or shanti Ashwem. After sunset, grab a beer or some yummy food at Dunes!

Keri Beach In Goa

Sweet, sleepy Keri brings you an insight into how Goa used to be. It’s one of the most Northern points of Goa, and the laid back scenes and quiet village vibes are so worth the trip! Winding past Terekhol river, through a quaint, colourful village, bursting with trees, temples, pigs and monkeys, the drive alone is worth a visit! A small, secluded beach, you can enjoy a quiet beach day, or even take a ferry over the river, and explore the Maharashtra border. This is a great spot for paragliding, if you’re in an adventurous mood!

Ashwem In Goa

Ashwem is another pretty beach, lined with coconut trees, and sprinkled with a colourful array of fisherman’s boats. Get here early morning, or sunset time to watch the fishermen go out to work, and haul in the nets after a busy day at sea. Split into two by a series of rock pools, great to explore with your mini humans, you can choose the laid back surfer side of the beach, or the slightly fancier side, where you can treat yourself to a nice meal or cocktail on the beach, lying under the shade of a straw lined umbrella. Visit Vaayu and ask about kayaking, paddle boarding and other watersports!

Sweet Lake In Goa

This is a hidden gem! To get there, you’ve got to clamber through the rocks at the far end of Arambol beach, which in themselves give you a fantastic view of North Goa’s beaches, and you can see the vast green canopy that lies over our beautiful state. Once you reach the small beach, you can venture over to the back end, and take a refreshing dip in the cool sweet water lake. After your dip, explore the jungle behind, masking yourself in clay in a jungle stream, or hiking up to the impressive Banyan at the top!

Turtle Beach In Goa

This beach lies at the end of Morjim. With an impressive selection of bars and restaurants, to keep you fed and watered, you can stroll along and see the incredible rocky scapes, but take extra care as it is a nesting and breeding spot of the rare Olive Ridley Turtle.

Uddo Beach In Goa

Although this beach is not strictly on the sea, it is a great place to hang out and spend a peaceful day! See where the Chapora River  meets the Arabian Sea, and watch people wading out in the shallow tide to collect crabs and mussels. A few cool little bars and restaurants line this river, and it’s a beautiful spot to watch the sun go down.

Arambol Beach In Goa

The renowned sunset spot for Goa tourists. Old school hippie vibes, expect crowds, but expect fun! Go at sunset to participate in a drum circle, watch fire spinners, eat a tasty charred corn and listen to stories about Goa, then and now.

Anjuna Beach In Goa

This is the beach that started it all in the swinging sixties. The home of the Goan psy-parties, happy hippies and  quirky culture. Although it’s developed a lot since then, the vibe lives on. If you wanna shop til you drop, have a boogie and explore Goa’s thumping nightlife, this is the beach to visit! Lots of vendors line this beach, and bars and clubs play music to get you in the mood for the wild Goan night to come!

Vagator Beach In Goa

Split into two sections, Little Vagator and Big Vagator, this beach is lined by red cliffs and views of the Chapora fort. Little Vagator is quieter, with nice cliff views, and plenty of cows for company, while Big Vagator has a more happening scene with music, food and bars to keep you entertained.

Baga Beach In Goa

famous for its Bollywood scenes, Baga Beach is busy and bustling. One of the most popular spots amongst domestic tourists, you will have no end of activities to partake in, restaurants to visit and bars to drink in!

We want to remind you to please be conscious when you visit the beach, our oceans are sacred, and we want to preserve them for as long as possible! Please remember to say NO to plastic, bring your own straw if you need it, and don’t leave a trace!
